What Does the Future Hold for the Entertainment Industry?
The entertainment industry in today’s society is already in a league of its own. With all the ipads, xboxes, and widescreen Tvs that grace the living rooms of almost every household, it’s hard to fathom a more technologically advanced future lifestyle. These modern advancements in technology will open the door for many other forms of entertainment.
The past twenty years has witnessed remarkable advances in Tv technology. With the arrival of Plasma and LCD Tv, most common households can mount a Tv on the wall like a picture and program the screen like a computer. These qualities are conducive to a movie theater-like atmosphere. In the next five years, widescreen Tvs will resemble 3D projections that will also provide access to the internet and phone. Even when the Tv is not in use, the average family will feel like they’re being transported to another place with a 3D digital projection screen that depicts various scenes throughout the world.
Other modern novelties like outdoor big screens are a rare luxury today, but in the future will be as common as an outdoor sprinkler. Already, families can sit in their backyards and view an inflatable screen that expands to a ten foot flat surface. In the future, consumers will be able to buy a converter which allows he or she to view a 2D screen in 3D by means of DVD software equipment. 3D glasses will also enhance the experience, allowing the viewer to feel like they are part of the action.
These advancements in technology are directly related to the consumers demand for a better visual and auditory experience. The entertainment industry has already come a long way even in the last ten years, but is only a precursor to a future of virtual reality and 3D digital interaction.
